Everyone Left

So, it's official. Everyone who spent the winter here at the park has left.  The last couple was to have left last Monday. The owners, Roger, me and two new fun people went with them to lunch so we could celebrate their stay. It was wonderfully fun. The entire East coast then had horrid storms so they stayed three more days and the day before they left...we went out to lunch once more!

Roger and I then drove over to Merritt Island Refuge and drove around the reserve. It's so hot here now in Florida we said we saw more wild life at our park then we did in the refuge.

So this guy was in a side stream and if he looks huge he was. I stepped out of the car to take the photo and told Roger to be ready to take off he he came after me. LOL.  He just sat there, Whew.

I love square formats and there was this sweet duck walking alone down the road. Soon to be a painting!!

I also love clouds.

And peeking through trees.

He was just content to stand there while I hung out of the car to photograph him.  And off we went.

Every so often the man comes to the campground just to fish. He hides his boat over in the reeds by the owners house then pushes off and stays out there for hours.

My plan is to do a series. The colors are stronger but today I'm working on my Chrome book. I haven't yet figured how to do a photoshop program on here. Soon!!!

So, the woman who was doing the cleaning in the bathhouse fell out of her trailer and broke her ankle in two places. Today she moved over to the west coast to be with her son and I was lucky to get her job and Roger is our new pool boy! Lucky to clean? LOL..Actually it gets me up earlier and now "moving" every day I find I plan my painting time more carefully.  I'm even planning on a painting a day on this blog as soon as I get commissions done. The Universe is taking care of us and sending all kinds of work.  I am grateful.

I'm finding the RV ing community to be rather complex. With so many economical and social backgrounds sometimes the drama is a bit negative. Unlike neighborhoods I think there is more interaction since people are out and about in a campground. My word for the week has been Respect! Oh sing it Aretha!!!  With no respect things get mucky really quickly.  Well, with our camp jobs and my paintings I'll be in a good place!

This was the beginning of a commission that is being shipped on the first.  I'll photograph it better tomorrow with my camera.

Update on my hip/back. After my Chiropractor app't on Friday I had a massage with my therapist. No fluff and buff but digging and stretching my right leg. Painful but necessary. I am thrilled to say since then I have been walking without pain!! WALKING!!!!  My ice bag and I are best buds but it's working. I have another massage in two weeks. I do ask her to do 2 minutes of "nice massage" before she ends!  I got a nice shoulder and head massage!!

Ok, that's all for today. Lola is barking at me for her dinner.

Ozzie is coming over to push the issue while Sammy is still groggy from his nap. Lola is intense. lol.

Thanks for coming by and have a great night!! I'll be blogging more now that I have more going on so...stay tuned!!

Warmly,
Sheila

The Rules, The Rules, The Rules

Before I go into "The Rules" I'll tell you about the picture above!

My son is a type 1 diabetic and has an allergy to anti biotics. He stepped on a nail last week and had a tetanus shot and was given..antibiotics. Long story short he landed on that Sunday in ICU from severe dehydration and vomiting. We flew to the hospital as fast as we could to be with him. The hospital had him on three IV's giving him fluids and one for small units of insulin. A week later he has recovered and is back to work.  We got home emotionally drained after picking up chinese food and went to open the door. Locked. Neither of us had the key!

I leave one of the back windows open a crack so I grabbed a ladder and started to climb. Roger later said my adrenalin was running so high at that point he just let me go. Now the opposite window leads right onto our bed but I took the one that you had to fall into. Which I did. Being aware of my sore hip so fell side ways and groaned. Roger leaned in and patted my head and asked if I was ok.  I grumbled no bit continued on. I went out through the coach much to the dogs surprise. Then as I went to open the door found it didn't work! I was locked in, Roger locked out.

We have Coach-net so I called them and they tried to find a locksmith that would come out to us on Easter for one and night time, secondly. Mark was the man! He arrived as I finished my food that Roger had passed through the window. He climbed in, opening the door and showed us how to reopen it if it would happen again. The next morning...yes we were now both locked in. I know now I would never survive in prison.  Mark came once again.

After he left Roger took the door panel completely off and this is what we saw. The image above. A spring was missing. It had to be. So off he went to buy a spring the size needed and voila'...it works! The excitement that we actually repaired something was exciting!! Stocking up on small springs as we speak!

Our Spirit Muses. Fergus and Sophie.

Ok, the rules. Some are made to be broken but in an RV Park they are there for a reason. They are simple. My buggaboo of having your dogs on a 6' lead. Simple isn't it? One would think. Another rule is don't bring in Pit Bulls. I'm sorry but a neighbor had a pit /Lab mix and attacked our Chocolate Lab Fergus not once but twice. Dogs are dogs but when an animal has one of my kids by the throat I'm not happy. Since then I am wary. My issues. I realize it is the person who is in the wrong from not training or socializing.  But on with the rules. Last weekend someone came into the park with not only more dogs than allowed but with a Pit . A man was walking by with a small dog and the dogs started barking and as the small dog was also yipping. The pit got loose and killed the small dog. Total insanity.  Rules are there for a reason.

Again, I know people with beautiful Pits. Well trained and socialized. They have a bad rap. Was my beautiful Fergus hurt by the attack he was in? Thankfully no but the neighbors dog had holes all over his head. I suppose one could say that crazy Lab! Even today I will avoid small dogs in the campground. We are out for a walk not to socialize. Honestly, I can not tell you what my kids would do in any given situation. They are dogs.  And they are always on a 6' lead!!!

Our oldest "baby" right now. Sammy. Not to loving to other dogs. They scare him. We keep him safe. He's my bud. Sleeps at my feet at night and loves being with us on our adventure. One time he was amazing at agility but couldn't stand being away from me and howled as I walked the course. Oh well. He teaches me patience, and eating the ice cream in the bowl first before he gets it!!!
That's my boy!!!!

Have a great night..
Warmly,
 Sheila

Hmm, Think We Missed The Luna Eclipse

I actually think I slept through it! And, I actually am happy I did. It means the pain in my hip and back is lessening. Happy dance here.

So this week friends pulled out for home and places unknown to do work camping. I was heading south on RT 95 to a friends for lunch, celebrating my birthday (still) and delivering a painting to a client. Seeing all the class A's and 5th wheels, trailers, heading north made me wistful. A sadness came over me for a bit but our lifestyle now is about making new friends and parting only to meet down the road again at some time. Ed and Dorrie are heading to Wyoming for a job then heading to California for the next winter, We plan on heading to Arizona for Roger's Submarine reunion in October,2016 and we chatted about meeting up with Ed and Dorrie out there as they head back here.

The night before we all went on a dinner/river cruise out of New Smyrna. It was fun all being together. Saw one manatee and a few dolphins but they moved too quickly to get more than a fin
for a photo. And how many fin photos can one have,

Our plans? We chatted tonight about making a spread sheet so we can see what we need to designate funds for and what we need to do before we head out. Tow dolly and find out why our ABS light keeps coming on,  Also we want to get a tire monitor. As my friend Lou and I were driving up and down RT 95 the other day, (story soon), we saw a truck in front of us blow two tired on his rig. Rubber flew up everywhere.  The other thing I am now doing is making our rig our home. Beige is so not my color. Bought a great colored cloth shower curtain today to see how it would look. I can get black out drapes at Wally World and sew them together to make new front window drapes. The drapes we have now are the original and are sooo grubby and of course, BEIGE! I need color in my life again!

We also learned something interesting in the past few days. Never make your own car towing device. One of the winter couples made their own tow hitch while here during the winter and as he was leaving the campground the other day going towards the highway, the hitch broke and his car fell away from his rig! He was seconds from going on Rt 95.  Then his alternator died. He's baaack.

My day the other day was supposed to be having lunch out with Lou celebrating my birthday. I thought I had put the painting I needed to deliver in the car but as I reached Lou's condo I saw no painting! Long story short, the next 3 1/2 hours was driving an hour back up to find the painting, which I thought I had put on the roof as I opened the door and it blew off. but it was still in the rig, grabbing lunch at Subway then driving down to Sebastian, an other half hour to deliver the painting. Then I drove yet another hour back home. Just a typical adventure!! hahaha.

The Dance

Have a great and happy Easter.

Warmly,
Sheila
